Let me just briefly explain to you about the UMNO flag. First of all, the color RED, it symbolizes, Hang Tuah, for his Bravery and Courage. WHITE is for Purity and Loyalty to the Country & King. As for the “sovereignty” of the Rulers, it is generally known that the royal colors used by the royalty are “YELLOW”. The yellow circular is placed in centre, between the color red and white which symbolizes the unity of all the rulers.
Now, the “keris “is a sacred weapon to the Malays as it was mostly used and “versatile” hand weapon at that time in the Malay Archipelago and had been used even before “”Parameswara’s” period till Hang Tuah’s famous “Taming Sari”, after which the royalty uses it to symbolize strength, spirit and honor. Just like “ARTHUR” or the “SAMURAIS”…
On the act of kissing the KERIS, it is a mark of the highest “RESPECT” and “HONOUR”. Just like the Malay custom of kissing the elders hand or a Muslim kissing the “Quran” before and after reading it OR kissing somebody you love.
So what’s the big deal?? You feel intermidated seeing someone doing it right? I would have guessed because most of the time we see movies of Chinese warriors raising their “Dagon Sword or Heavenly Sword or what ever name you called it when they go to war with each other, it’s ok, right??? . Even during the so called “Holy Crusade” it’s ok and gallant for the knights to raise and kiss their swords but it looks "Brutal" for the Arabs defending their land to do so. It’s also ok and heroic for the Jap’s to say “bangsai” with their Bushido blades, right….. So it’s ok for somebody to put up his hands at 45 degrees and say “Heil Hitler’ or like Mussolini or the Romans.?????
But it’s irresponsible and oppressive or uncivilized for a Malay person to raise a “keris” ya????? Hello…Hello… hypocrites,
Anyway, I am surprised to think, that you guys who says that you’re Malaysians …..But know next to nothing about the Malayan history or you just refuse to do so…May be I’ll brief you all on my next chapter of “Malayan Heritage history” about how it all started. But my guess is that you’ll say it’s racial, discriminating, oppressive, undemocratic, uncivilized etc etc…..but it’s okay for you guys to openly slander , abuse and condemns others as if you are all truly righteous….and democratic. How sensitive can you be to say it’s worth two cents…kiss my #@%* @#$....
